Remember memorizing the multiplication tables? Ugh!
But there’s a hack for learning them! . . . Do you know the parent of a third grader working for months on their multiplication tables? Or maybe a teenager or an adult who isn’t reaching his or her full potential because they never mastered those multiplication tables?

There is no need to memorize the 0 times, 1 times or 10 times tables because there are very simple rules for them. There is no need for children to memorize the 2 times table since they are merely a rewording of the addition table formulas that they just learned. (For example, 3 * 2 is the same thing as 3 + 3.) The 11 and 12 times tables don’t have to be memorized because they can, and should be, calculated when needed instead. There is no need to memorize reciprocals because if children know one than they know the other. (For example, if a child knows 3 times 4, they don’t need to memorize 4 times 3. So children only have to memorize the 28 that are left. They are:
3*3, 3*4, 3*5, 3*6, 3*7, 3*8, 3*9
4*4, 4*5, 4*6, 4*7, 4*8, 4*9
5*5, 5*6, 5*7, 5*8, 5*9
6*6, 6*7, 6*8, 6*9
7*7, 7*8, 7*9
8*8, 8*9
9*9
